My bio:

Meghan Scibona

Dir, Girl with a Gun

Scibona is a Brooklyn, New York based director. She directed and produced a short, Roulette Night, which was shown at the Austin Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and the Queens International Film Festival in 2006. Her shorts F*^kin' Calamari and The Remodel have been shown at Manhattan screenings. Her newest short Scum will be available online in March at: areyouscum.com. Scibona and her husband screenwriter Jason Nunes are in development for their first feature with independent film company, Girl with a Gun Productions, which she will direct. She is a founding partner of SMXL (Small Media Extra Large), a digital movie studio with big ideas for small screens. Their first project, podOperaBrooklyn is a soap opera for podcasts (think Desperate Housewives, not Days of Our Lives).

South by Southwest Day 2

Just finished day 2 of the festival. Saw a bunch of panels and 2 movies. Good stuff.

Tomorrow I'm going to be on a panel called, "When Does User Generated Content Become Independent Filmmaking?" I'm so excited!

I was chosen because I've had some shorts in some small festivals and am now using the Internet to promote myself. I'm going to talk about the PROACTIVE monthly film series and about podOperaBrooklyn.com

Check back tomorrow to see how it went.

We have music for "Roulette Night"-by Vortex!
Our soundtrack will consist exclusively of songs by Vortex. Our friends Juliet and Hajo have agreed to let us use their wonderful music for our film. We are using it throughout the entire film, as the film takes place in a bar.
Check out their website:

Jason and I chose the soundtracks tonight and he will add them in tomorrow night. We only have 4 days until our submission is due to Tribeca. Yippeee!!

00:12:24:10 Film's, "Aural Fixation" shoot
We shot "Aural Fixation" this weekend. It was a great experience for me as a director. I prepared for the shoot in a new way and challenged myself to really approach the film in a way I hadn't approached the others. I am definitely growing as a director. I am so fired up to direct the next Girl with a Gun project now!! As always, I will keep you posted.

Meghan's New Directing Project!
I have been chosen to direct a new short film called Aural Fixation, by Charlotte Winters. It's a great script. We are tentatively scheduled to shoot the weekend of December 2nd. It will be produced by 00:12:24:10 Films, the film branch of PROACTIVE. Aural Fixation will be the third film I have directed for them.

Stacie Leigh Scaduto is the Producer and Don Downie is the Director of Photography. Stacie and Don are the founders of Scene Partners Cinema. Jason and I have worked with them on a few projects and we love to collaborate with them. We are discussing a new venture with them, which we will announce when the details are finished.
